A faulty actuator puts the engine into limp mode, with the DSC and EML lights on and fault codes 2B15 and 2B16 (Throttle Valve Actuator Bank 1 and 2). Often the engine first runs normally for about five minutes before the symptoms appear.

The cause is a design flaw in the internal gears, which wear prematurely and overload the electronics. With these refurbished actuators, Evolve replaces all internal components with heavier-duty versions, so the problem does not return.

Features

Gears: replaced with gears made of better material

Electronics: all MOSFETs replaced

Checked: transistors, capacitors, voltage regulators, microprocessor and EPROM tested or replaced

Set: for both actuators (pair)

Compatibility

BMW M5 E60 Sedan (S85)

BMW M5 E61 Touring (S85)

BMW M6 E63 Coupe (S85)

BMW M6 E64 Convertible (S85)

Specifications

Brand: Evolve

Manufacturer part number: EVO-S85-TA-INSTALLED

Type: refurbished throttle actuators, uprated internal components

Contents: 2 actuators

Installation

Professional installation is recommended.
